Dragon and Bamboo Cigarette Case
A wildly detailed Dragon and Bamboo cigarette case from early 1900's England.
Made by Kwong Man Shing in China as part of the "Chinese Export Silver" rush in late 1800's England. Made in China by skilled silversmiths and then sent to England for sale, they were hallmarked very similarly to what was the norm in England at the time.
Intricately chased and engraved, an image of a dragon swirls through clouds around a monogram plate at the center. On the back, some bamboo trees, with their leaves hanging gracefully. Between all these ornate designs is an intricately engraved florentine pattern.
The designs and textures on the exterior in this condition after 100 years or more, make this a remarkable piece. Add the working spring mechanism, and era appropriate strap and it is now a fantastic catch for any luxury smoking accessory fan.
Fitting filterless cigarettes on one side at a time, please refer to the dimensions below before purchase.
