LeJour Morgan Dollar Watch

Many coin watch variants were made using the coin as an almost hunter style pocket watch case, with a separate "mid-case” with the dial and movement.

The construction on the LeJour is different. The coin makes up the bezel, mid-case, and dial with an attached stainless steel case back to hold the movement in. A groove was cut into the face of the coin to fit the acrylic crystal tightly, and 12 “markers” cut out of the bezel to aid legibility. 

Lugs were then soldered on, with an internal width of 18mm, perfect for leather bands and steel or sterling bracelets.
